- 1 (28-ounce/793g) can crushed tomatoes
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 ounces fresh basil, chopped
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Place all ingredients except olive oil in a blender, process until smooth.
- Heat olive oil to medium in a large pot. Add the tomato mixture, bring to a simmer, reduce to low and partially cover (to prevent splashing) for 45 minutes. Adjust salt and spice.
