Blackened Cajun Salmon

- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1½ pounds wild-caught salmon
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven broiler to high and set an oven rack 6 to 8 inches (20 to 25cm) below the top heating element
- In a small bowl, stir together the paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, cayenne pepper, and black pepper.
- Rub both sides of the salmon with oil and place on a rimmed baking sheet lined with foil.
- Sprinkle the seasoning evenly over the fish, rubbing it in with your fingers to make it’s evenly coated.
- Broil for 5 to 8 minutes (depending on the thickness), or until it flakes easily with a fork and is opaque in the center.
