Hello & welcome! I’m Barbie, registered dietitian and brain health enthusiast, empowering women to navigate midlife with an inspired emphasis on keeping their minds in excellent shape.
My 20+ years in women’s nutrition, has made it clear that midlife is a critical window of opportunity, to lay a foundation that allows us to thrive, rather than decline as we age. The awareness that two-thirds of Alzheimer’s patients are female, 1 in 5 women over age 65 will be diagnosed with the disease, and that these numbers are expected to double by 2050, are statistics we can’t accept without a fight. With your help, I want to be a part of changing this trajectory for us.
Fortunately, our generation of women is rejecting the messaging of our youth, and recognizing the value in strong-over-skinny, and the crucial role of healthy muscle in our longevity and physical fitness. But — if we truly want to age well — we must be equally committed to our cognitive fitness.
